With Bombers-Better To Be Lucky Than Smart.
Thankfully for us the Pakistani and Islamic terrorist bomb schools seem to be a little remiss in their ignition instructions. The recent Times Square bombing attempt was another example of that fact
Janet Napolitano Secretary of Homeland Security and Attorney General Eric Holder praised their anti-terrorist team and the NY police for brilliant response which once again ended with a bomb misfire and no one hurt.
I believe another element is important in the story which Holder and Napolitano skipped.
Dumb luck has been involved in the Obama team success. That element is in the one thing tha Homeland Security has used successfully in protecting our nation.. TSA, a part of Homelend Security, needs the luck because they certainly are not the smartest operating element in Homeland Defense.
The shoe bomber was on the plane trying to set off his foot bomb at 38,000’ flying to the US. The Christmas underwear bomber was trying to set the bomb in his underwear off on the approach to landing in Detroit. The NY Times bomb didn’t go off and once again the bomber succeeded in getting on a plane in NYC trying to escape. The plane was stopped at the last moment before take off when someone finally checked the no-fly list.
Rather than crowing about their success Holder and Napolitano should do some hard work with TSA and the Watch and No-fly lists. It seems that a more accurate term would be the, TSA GO Fly List. One of these days the terrorists are going to get their bomb ignition act together and TSA better be on the ball by then to see that they do not easily fly to the U.S..
I’m not feeling any surge of confidence on the subject since the Obama seems to have terrorists down the list after his prime enemies which are- Financial institutions. Oil companies, successful businesses and individuals who are having personal financial success as well as Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck.
Last weekend Obama, in a graduation address, being given while oil was gushing in the Gulf, the FBI was running around NY chasing the Times Square bomber, Greece and Europe were in a financial meltdown, the President used the occasion to attack his media critics.
Obama skipped the usual congratulatory, positive nature of a graduation address to attack Beck and Limbaugh. This in a graduation address??. I’ve never had confidence in Obama but his recent actions go Beyond the Pale.
Lies ,arrogance and disregard for the public interest have become standard fare with his administration. There have only been one or two Presidents in my life that I have unabashedly admired The others had good and bad points in my view. There were those I didn’t like but I never thought that any of them had anything other than our nation’s welfare as a goal woven into their policy.
Obama is a new category in my Presidential rating system. I have come to the conclusion that he is really a bad guy and has stepped Beyond the Pale
Beyond the pale—Unacceptable; outside agreed standards of decency.

So if Obama is “Beyond the Pale” what is Bush, Buck?
Marshall, To bring you up to date:
Bush is a rancher in Texas who was once the President but now has no public office or voice.
It no longer matters whether he is in or beyond the pale.
I am constantly amazed at how many people are still Bush Bashing. While Bush was certainly not our best President, I think he was more concerned with the safety of our country than any other President over the past 20 years. I think he did some idiotic things, and his judgment left a lot to be desired, but I think his heart was in the right place.
Since taking office, Obama and his administration have gone on a world apology tour, used our civilian courts to process enemy combatants, offered Constitutional protection to citizens of other countries who have killed or tried to kill American citizens, relaxed enforcement of our borders to allow who knows what into our country, and refused to provide resources to the troop commanders on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Instead of focusing on security, Obama has focused on taking over our health care system, automobile companies, and banks. Cap and Trade legislation took a huge amount of time to pass and for what benefit? Now before finalizing the Cap and Trade, the Obama administration has vowed to take on Immigration, but only to undo what the Arizona legislature has done to protect its citizems from the massacres that have been happening along the border. American citizens are dying and instead of stepping up to do what the Constitution REQUIRES the federal government to do, Obama will seek to prevent Arizona from protecting its own people.
What do you call it when a federal government owns all or part of large companies? It’s called SOCIALISM. What do you call it when a federal government becomes the provider for healt care services? It’s called SOCIALISM.
If you want the federal government to provide health care for everyone, if you want taxes raised so that we can make sure that everyone is cared for, then you are a SOCIALIST. If you think that the government will take care of you and that companies are evil, then you are a SOCIALIST. Obama has PROVEN himself to be a SOCIALIST.
All of Obama’s plan is costing more and more money that is being printed from nothing. That causes inflation and weakens the dollar. Weakening the dollar weakens the country. It leaves us open to hostile influences. Wars do not determine who is right, but who is left. History shows us that the countries with the most wealth are able to prevail.
Instead of focusing efforts to keep Americans safe, Obama has spent his resources to make us more Socialist. The European Union (EU) was an effort to make Europe a collective government. If you control the money, you control everything. How is the Euro doing now? Where will Obama take us?
If you are so entrenched in your opinions that you cannot listen to opposing views, then you are a mindless robot instead of a free thinker. If you are so entrenched in your opinions that you cannot see the damage that Obama is doing, then nothing I write will change your mind.
I don’t think Obama will be able to totally undo our system in four years, and it may not happen in the next ten or fifteen years, but we are now on the road to becoming the USSA. The United Socialist States of America.
I see, so the terrorist attack that took years to plan and just happened to unfold 8 months after he took office is Bush’s fault?
By the “single biggest foreign policy debacle of the last 100 years” I can only presume you are referring to Iraq. Yes, I can see how you would conveniently forget that most of the House of Representatives and most of the Senate voted for us to take military action based not on Bush, but on the reports of the CIA. I can see how you would conveniently forget that we went into Iraq with a coalition of over 30 countries. I can see how you would conveniently forget that the British Intelligence, Russian Intelligence, and Israeli Intelligence all said the same things as the CIA. I can see that because you must forget all of those things if you want to blame a single person for everything.
Bush ruined our economy? At most, he didn’t stop Congress from spending billions and billions of dollars on earmark projects and entitlement programs. I will agree that he should have used his veto power, but ultimately it is Congress that controls the purse strings and not the President. It may interest you to know that about 65% of our annual budget is entitlement programs and interest on the national debt. That 65% is automatic every year and grows as interest on the debt grows. The other 35% is military, homeland security, and other obligations mandated by the Constitution. It is that 35% that can be trimmed to cut spending or expanded to increase the deficit.
As for trampling the Constitution, I can only presume you are referring to those “warrantless wiretaps” that still got a warrant from the FISO courts, and you must mean that “unconstitutional” practice of waterboarding. I have a copy of the Constitution and can’t find anything that talks about waterboarding or interrogations. I guess I have an outdated copy since the one I have was first signed in 1787. By the way, check out the movie GI Jane with Demi Moore to see a great scene of Demi Moore being waterboarded. They even refer to why it is such an effective interrogation technique. Of course, you will have to conveniently forget that this movie was released in 1997 while Clinton was still President because you won’t be able to blame that on Bush if you realize that we have been using that technique for more than 20 years. I knew about waterboarding when I was in the United States Marine Corps in 1988!
Instead of broad accusations like “unequivocally the worst President in modern history”, or “responsible for the single biggest foreign policy debacle of the last 100 years”, or “trampled the constitution faster than he snorted 8-balls” I would love to see just one of you Bush Bashers have some actual statistics and facts. You don’t debate on issues, you debate on name calling and sound bites. You seek to blame one man for the actions of hundreds.
I wish I had a life so simple that I could blame all the world’s troubles on one man. Period. End of Story.
