Unemployment Rises Again

The government figures show that unemployment increased in 43 states last month, Job creation continues to be the missing element in Obama’s daily morning schedule review. Reelection strategy of this administration does not include any reasonable plan to help small business, which is where most new jobs are created.

The obvious first step in encouraging job creation is with tax cuts and or credits that will allow small businesses to expand their operations where needed. Tax cuts are not an activity that Obama , Pelosi and Reid understand. Their thoughts run in the opposite direction. They understand how to increase taxes to enable the expansion of their government programs.

The Health Plan had not been set aside for 24 hrs before Obama came out swinging with a proposal to add taxes to banking transactions. This populist move is obviously designed to divert attention from his support of actions that have made a number of financial institutions stronger than ever.

The new taxes on banks can be debated but the self serving timing of Obama’s proposal has had a chilling effect on the market. His proposal was followed by the stock market having two straight days of triple digit losses totaling more than 500 points. He followed the bank proposals with an attack on the Supreme Court for it’s ruling that enabled free speech for corporations in regard to elections.

A commentary reported in the Christian Science Monitor lays out the opposing views on the Court ruling: “To those for whom MoveOn.org and the countless left-wing 527 operations are the forces of truth and justice, and corporations the font of rich evil men of the 1930’s plutocratic cartoons, this case is a disaster for the commonweal,” writes Clarice Feldman on the conservative Pajamas Media website. “But for those of us who think free speech is inviolate, and more important in the context of elections than it is in flag burnings or obscenity cases, this decision is a long overdue righting of a preposterous error of legislative judgment.”

New taxes, attacking the Supreme Court and stating a determination to move ahead on his unpopular Health Care Plan all in a days work for Obama. The major change in the Health Plan was a new strategy of introducing it a piece at a time. These were his next day contributions to the commonweal following Scott Brown’s significant victory.

This administration is a train wreck in the making. The people running the country couldn’t handle the management of a pizza shop or any other entity that required concern for the customers acceptance of the product being produced.

The Obama administration has the lowest number of appointees from the private sector of any administration in the last 80 years. Obama makes Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson and Clinton look like conservatives. They were not conservatives but were interested in hearing what the public thought about their proposals. Nothing coming out of the administration indicates an interest in responding to the public objections to the Health Plan Proposal. They are not even listening to their party’s reasonable members of congress who recognize the need to answer the public concerns.

The Republican suggestions are not admitted to any serious discussion. I’m trying to remember : Why did we elect Obama and his supporters?. Do we have a secret vein of political masochism running through our nation?

Buck,

Some people need to learn lessons the hard way. For all of the warnings issued about what the Democrats in power wanted to do, those who issued the warnings were called “right-wing nut jobs” or worse. Many simply couldn’t believe the administration would do all of this. Still others wanted all of this, but didn’t anticipate the natural results of such policies. Now that people have experienced some of the arrogant attitude and failed policy, they might just vote in the next few elections for positive change. The key question is whether Republicans can get their act together to be the true leaders of the way forward or if there will be a “Tea Party” party on the ticket.

The problem still remains how to handle the media. We don’t have a State-controlled media has Rush, Hannity, and others have suggested. We have a media-controlled state because what they report and don’t report greatly impacts the outcome of the elections. I am all for freedom of the press, but I think we should have some accountability as well.

Buck, AGAIN another excellent article!! And again you are right, down to the last sentance. Dick
