Threats to Freedom Never Stop
In a discussion on a talk show, the question of Obama’s intentions concerning the immigration problem was raised. The moderator stated that the people creating our problem “are not immigrants and it is not a question of immigration.” (Peter Boyles KHOW AM)
The problem is the illegal intrusion of millions of people into our country. The image of these lawbreakers is softened by the terminology used to describe the situation.
“Undocumented immigrants” is one of the media references frequently used. Illegal as an adjective in describing these lawbreakers is almost never used in the media
Political correctness has intruded itself into the discussion and negative references to the illegality of the massive migration across our border, is typically ascribed to racism. This is a play from a deck with few meaningful cards. It is a Saul Alinsky move to take opposition out of a discussion by discrediting dissenting motives with character assaults.
Federal and local governments have succumbed to the Alinsky tactic and have failed to take aggressive legal action against the illegal entrants, fearing for their political future if the are branded as racist.
The same tactic is currently being use concerning Super Bowl ad bought by Focus on The Family that is scheduled to air on Sunday. The ad features Pam Tebow the mother of Tim Tebow, Heismann Trophy winner and quarterback of the University of Florida football team.
When pregnant with Tim she developed a condition which caused her doctor to suggest that she abort the fetus. Her faith caused her to say no and Tim Tebow was the result of that pregnancy. The Focus on the Family ad tells her story.
The NFL and CBS are under attack from various left wing woman’s groups with demands that the ad not be shown. No one has yet seen the ad and Pam Tebow is being attacked as a liar with accusations that this did not take place as described.
The vicious commentary by the Pro Choice proponents is brutal. What are we becoming as a nation when there are such demands, to stop opposing views from being heard. Character assassination is a Saul Alinsky tactic and the cries of liar and racist being used in the opening of discussion is right out of his manual, Rules for Radicals.
The First Amendment is a primary guardian of our freedom. Alinsky understood that shutting down thoughtful discussion would be the first step in controlling the direction of the country’s governance. His philosophy was that any means could be used to get the radical results being sought. The cries of racist concerning opposition to the illegal entry of millions into our country and liar to a woman professing a Right to Life message should have no respected position in any discussion of these issues.
Equal economic opportunity and free voice of opinion are pillars of American society and need to be defended. Turning our backs on illegal actions at our borders and allowing the diminution of the rights provided by the First Amendment are steps on a slippery slope of expanded government control of our freedoms.

1996 Immigrants lose benefits. President Clinton signs welfare reform bill that cuts many social programs for immigrants. Legal immigrants lose their right to food stamps and Supplemental Security Income (a program for older, blind, and disabled people). Illegal immigrants become ineligible for virtually all federal and state benefits except emergency medical care, immunization programs, and disaster relief.
