Republican Failure
Many of my posts outline my thoughts on the upsetting policy of the current administration and the weak leadership in the House and the Senate. I concentrate on these subjects because it is difficult to find a viable alternative plan being devised by the Republican opposition.
When Rush Limbaugh is being described as the most prominent leader of the Republican Party the Party is not the only group with problems our entire Nation now has a unique problem. An administration with almost bizarre plans for the nation finds itself with clear sailing since there seems to be no viable competition from an opposing party
Limbaugh is an entertainer and certainly is a bright guy He however is not capable of being a leader of a winning Republican party. He might have a quick wit. He has some good conservative ideas but is a divisive force in the midst of Republican hopes for the future. Rush presents a “my way or the highway” political philosophy which is not the way the political process works.
It works for Rush with his long term contract of hundreds of millions of dollars and 20 million listeners. It is not a package to defeat the Democrats in 2010. A reasoned approach to the public with plans to reduce the government involvement in our lives must be crafted to put the brakes on the Obama plans for our country. A fake program such as the so called “compassionate conservatism” will not once again fool the public.
I believe that Obama, Pelosi and Reid are paving the way for their own demise. Billions spent to bail out a financial system that put us into our current financial mess was just the start. Their leadership failure must be replaced with intelligent recovery programs that put individual effort to the forefront of programs, not government
The GM bankruptcy structure is totally Obamas’ baby! Mercedes, Volkswagon, Volvo, Toyoto, Nissan, Ford and others must be grinning ear to ear. Their major competition is now being directed by an individual who prepared for this task by running a neighborhood community group in Chicago.
This is truly an incredible time. I am looking at a President staking a large part of his and our future on a company that is failing and will very likely continue to fail even with bankruptcy protection and billions more of government bailout funding. What evidence is there that Obama has the talent , experience or understanding to become the Director of the Auto industry, the financial sector and soon our health care coverage.
The Republican Party lack of meaningful response is beyond incredible. With our Nation in peril financially, international threats increasing, they have Rush Limbaugh as the titular spokesman while they mush about trying to find direction and some members with leadership capability.
There must be some clear thinking Republicans with leadership quality. They need to step up, take charge and get rid of the derogatory RINO term that Limbaugh has made popular in describing anyone that is more moderate in approach.
It is time for unity and those who are ready to search for that result. America is tired of the politically divisive verbiage we hear every day. The people are looking for leadership, that is how Obama won. It is becoming evident that he is leading us away from the strength of our country which is founded with a belief in individual freedom and a government that recognizes those freedoms of Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness

Buck,
Right you are, but you didn’t go far enough. As a Conservative first and foremost, and a Republican second, I look to the GOP to help me and others like me express my opinions on a national scale. That is what a Representative Republic is all about. Rush does not review policy, nor debate the issues in committee on “The Hill”. He is a voice, but is not in position to lead.
What we need are members in the House and Senate to speak out and make a stand. They may not prevail this week, this month, or this year. But if they keep at it they will prevail in the end.
Anyone who was opposed to the BILLIONS of dollars being sunk into the failing auto industry hasn’t seen anything yet. Now that “we” own a controlling interest in the company, “we” will be required to subsidize the failures indefinately. No more will it require intense debate as to whether or not we can or should sink any more money into GM. Discussion now will be, “Well we have to protect our investment by spending more until they get back on their feet.”
We need leaders who speak the truth and common sense, even if it is “politically incorrect” as defined by the opposition. A federal government owning a controlling interest in one of the nation’s largest companies is not capitalism. It is communism, just like the Soviet Union. A Hispanic woman who claims she has a better perspective because of her race is just as racist as a white man who makes the same comment. Representatives who cower in the face of political opponents, who get to set the rules, are not representatives…they are subjects.
I don’t know where my country went, but I want it back.
