Pelosi- Let them Eat Cake!

Pelosi did an imitation of Marie Antoinette yesterday in Denver while visiting a health clinic.

An AP report in the Denver Post said:
Pelosi: Protests won’t derail health care overhaul
Pelosi when earlier asked about her reaction to the protests over proposed health Care legislation she indicated that the protesters were displaying Swastikas..

A quote from the Jawa Report explains the problem:.
“ If Pelosi saw a sign with a Swastika on it and didn’t realize the protester was calling her a Nazi, then she is indeed more stupid and out of touch than I previously thought.”

The problem once again is Nancy. She doesn’t care what the public is saying in protest to her determination to pass her massive Health Care Plan. She has determined we will have her answer and the public be damned if they don’t agree. As the Denver Post quotes Pelosi; “protests at health care promotions sponsored by Democrats won’t derail a massive health overhaul”
At the start of the French Revolution,Marie Antoinette when facing the mob demanding bread said, “ let them eat cake.”
When the American public protests her plan demanding sensible legislation, Pelosi says, “what they want doesn’t matter, let them have my massive government program (the cake)
I wonder who is really wearing a swastika.

I received an email from an old friend the other day. Underlying his facetious tone in the note is anger that is growing across the nation about Nancy and the Obama program.
My friends note:
“Buck, I was wondering if any of Obama’s storm troopers have contacted you yet concerning the content of your blog and your efforts to overthrow his administration. Or maybe just a friendly IRS audit to make you see the error of your subversive ways. I need to go now because the angry mob that I belong to is having a strategy meeting. We go to various town hall meetings and ask disruptive questions like, what is in the health bill. Sometimes they have to call the police because of questions like this.

The so called,Obama Change, to have his government totally control our lives is not what America expected, wants or will accept. Nancy doesn’t get it, Harry doesn’t understand and Obama is living in La La land if he thinks that we will compound the mistake of electing him by standing by without protesting his acceleration of Statist philosophy.

He and his minions need to understand our First Amendment rights. We will protest and further express our disgust with the White House request that we report our neighbors who disagree with Obama and Nancy to the White House at the address provided for this spying activity.
There was a Tuesday posting on the official White House blog in which the Obama administration asks supporters to report back when they receive “an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy” to an official e-mail address: flag@whitehouse.gov.
This attempt to copy the fear tactics that Soviet Union used over it’s citizens is beyond any level of acceptance. We will not become a copy of the Soviet Union who encouraged reporting dissident conversations heard in either private or public conversations.

This administration needs more than a Change. They need a total overhaul starting now.
Expressions of disgust to your Representative and Senators with the tactics being used by the administration is the first step. Preparation for 2010 needs to be actively organized and sensible candidates identified. Nancy being deposed in the next election must happen. This is America and we need not resort to the tactics of France with Marie. We have an election in 2010 to effect her removal. It is time for Nancy to be returned to San Francisco with her most important duties limited to leading Elder Hostel Tours of Fisherman’s Wharf.

Buck,

I have come to realize that the more we let Pelosi and Obama speak, the more people will see them for what they are. It was easy for them to simply cast stones at Bush, but now they have to stand on their own merits and simply blaming others won’t cut it.

It is doubtful that most people realized that rather than voting for Obama, they were really voting against what they belived we had become. Their vision of our country was based on perpetual rock throwing by the Democrats and the media. The American people are starting to realize that they “bought a pig in a poke” and it won’t be long before they send it to the butcher for a giant pig roast.

The real question will be who will be there to pick up the pieces and lead us to the next step, which is recovery. I have not seen the type of leadership that we need in the Republican party, but I also don’t think that any of the “other” parties are ready to take the reigns.

Obama and his ilk are keenly aware of the growing dissent and they know their time is limited to get their agendas passed. That’s why the push to get everything done in days. I heard a great quote the other day, “it took Obama six months to pick out a dog for his family, but he is trying to push this legislation through in days.”

Keep writing your blog, my friend, because the more we get voices of reason out into the minds of Americans, the better we will do when it’s time for the pig roast.

This country received a much-needed overhaul last November 4. “Your way” is a failure, and you think you’re going to get back into power after six months? Go away!

My way? Hmmm, I don’t remember working for the Bush Administration. I don’t recall being a political operative who had my plans enacted. Come to think of it, I don’t even recall claiming any power opportunities.

Frankly, I am amused that you would suggest I go away. It is often the method of those on the left to not be open to other people’s opinions and to be quite mean spirited in the process.

Have a wonderful day.

We’re almost on the same page, Heath.

You orignially said that “It is doubtful that most people realized that rather than voting for Obama, they were really voting against what they belived we had become.”

The only quibble I have with that — and it’s minor — is that you should have deleted the words “they belived” [sic] in that last line. Many people did, in fact, vote against what we had become. Meaning: “our guy” gets more than six months to show his stuff and to fix the mess that it took Georgie 8 years to create.

Diogenes,

I actually did want to include “they believed” because what I have found in my conversations with liberal family and friends, and people from other countries is that they were reacting more to what they heard on the news and heard in speeches rather than what they had experienced for themselves. In their own experiences, they had not actually seen or felt what was being presented, but they accepted without question the reports of others.

An example is the feeling that people outside of the US hate Americans and the belief that Obama will help restore our image around the world. The simple fact is that I have recently traveled on 3 continents outside the US and I have engaged in coversations on each and every trip about this Anti-American sentiment. I have never experienced it and neither has anyone with whom I have spoken. They do not hate the US or Americans, even if they disagree with our foreign policy du jour. To further illustrate the point, every one I spoke to had an unfavorable opinion of Rush Limbaugh. Yes, they knew who he was, but they had never heard his voice in either a broadcast or a sound bite. Not one person could even recall reading a quote. How can you be negative on someone whom you have not heard unless you are taught to dislike them?

In all, I have always been proud of my country without regard to our President and his policies. We do not have a perfect history and no one does, but we have come farther and faster than any other nation on the planet from what I can tell. We have an immigration problem because people across the world know that this is the greatest nation and one of opportunity, even through the Bush years and even in our current recession.

I think if people, in general, stopped to differentiate what they believe based on what they have heard and what they have experienced, that more Americans would begin to feel differently about our Country.

Have a great day.

Heath
