Pelosi: Arrogance Without Bounds
Nancy Pelosi is demonstrating a vicious level of arrogance and control of The House of Representatives not previously experienced.
Nancy has made it clear to all that the wishes of the public concerning Health Care revisions will not enter into her considerations. In Denver last week she said that the protests would not sway her from enacting her Heath Legislation despite being widely questioned by the public with increasing passion.
This Health Bill with more than 1000 pages has sections that seem to clearly defy Constitutional requirements. One section proposes that the government have the right to directly withdraw funds by wire transfer out of the accounts of businesses that are deemed deficient in their Health Plan compliance by government operatives.
Why haven’t we heard a review of this section by the major media and their legal consultants? I’m not a lawyer but it seems clear to me that the government TAKING of any private property or funds has clear requirements for notification of intent, reasons for proposed action and to provide opportunity for legal action in defense of proposed government Taking.
Nancy seems to be able to ignore the Constitutional protections of citizens if her individual goals are impeded by this dusty old document.
The Administration has trumpeted their interest in reaching across the political aisle for input on important legislation. This seems to be simply a deceitful public pronouncement. Nancy has prohibited her Democratic colleagues from pursuing any input from the Republican side of the aisle. It is widely known in DC that Nancy has told her Democratic caucus that anyone who talks to Republicans about this Health Bill, even informally, will receive her complete wrath and no funding for any of their district projects.
Nancy doesn’t like to fly commercially and this has been well documented. Her leadership in the House is apparently going to accommodate her desire and that of her colleagues to avoid mingling with the public.
The Wall Street Journal reported:
WASHINGTON — Congress plans to spend $550 million to buy eight jets, a substantial upgrade to the fleet used by federal officials at a time when lawmakers have criticized the use of corporate jets by companies receiving taxpayer funds. The purchases will help accommodate growing travel demand by congressional officials.
Under Nancy, House members spent 3000 days overseas last year at taxpayers expense. This is up from 550 days in 1995. They spent $13 million traveling, which is a 10 times increase from the 1995 figures.-
If you are curious as to what has happened to our government supposedly, of the people, by the people, and for the people, you need only to look at Nancy for your answer. She is the epitome of the arrogant sense of entitlement that is now imbedded into the political structure of our government and this administration in particular.
Think about what is happening. Look at Nancy and listen carefully to what she says and observe her demeanor when speaking of citizens who disagree with her. She is a scary person. No questions about it. I am not easily scared but I am now. Nancy and Obama are a package designed to give us big problems for 3 ½ more years. We can halve the danger by getting Nancy out of the Speakers position in 2010. We can’t get her out of the House but we can get her out of control.
Her District has been so gerrymandered that no one even runs against her. That is the case with many Democratic incumbents but there is still hope. America is awakening to the danger of the Obama and Nancy regime. It is our challenge as a Nation for 2010 to find candidates with honesty, virtue and a belief in the America structured by our founders as the basic characteristics they will bring to office.
That is the Change that is needed.
