Obama- Read Marianne Moore
The new financial bill is guaranteed to make obtaining credit more difficult for small business. It is a poorly crafted bill that puts a noose around the total banking and financial sector because of the actions of some Wall Street.based firms.
If Obama and his cohorts were truly interested in strengthening our nation they should do a little reading to understand the nature of America. I’ll develop a reading list that will help. Marianne Moore a modern poet of note in her work called “England” outlines a few truths that our political leadership missed in their various studies
Marianne in her poem has a verse which could apply to the action taken by the legislature in their punishment of all banks because of the actions of a few.
She says:
“why should continents of misapprehension
have to be accounted for by the fact?
Does it follow that because there are poisonous toadstools
which resemble mushrooms, both are dangerous?
Of mettlesomeness which may be mistaken for appetite,
of heat which may appear to be haste,
no conclusionns may be drawn.”
Our current leadership probably will need guidance in understanding how this relates to their drive to make us all become subject to government control in every facet of life.
The Obamanestas have no clue as to the simple unique factors that have brought greatness to America. Moore touches upon this in her poetry.
“America where there
is the little old ramshackle victoria in the south,
where cigars are smoked on the street in the north;
where there are no proofreaders, no silk-worms, no digressions;
the wild man’s land; grass-less, linksless, languageless country in which letters are written
not in Spanish, not in Greek, not in Latin, not in shorthand,
but in plain American.”
Moore was writing in a time when plain American was understood by politicians and the will of the people was important. I confess that I don’t miss the cigars but I do regret the move from the simple truth that plain American meant, individual effort was the available path to success and government better not interfere.
Obama, Nancy and Harry are determined to obliterate any trace of “the wild man’s land” that has been woven into the very fabric of America’s growth throughout our history.
The Federal disregard for the limitations on their actions placed by the Constitution is rapidly moving us in a direction that does not resemble Plain American. Obama has no clue or interest in this “wild man’s land” that limited Federal actions in governance.
November must be our first step in the restoration of America where vigor and individual initiative with a bit of wildness are recognized as characteristics at the heart of our greatness.
