Obama: Maybe It’s A Hearing Problem?
A sign held outside of the school in which the President promoted his failing effort to socialize our Health Care in America said” Stop the lying –Listen - No Socialist Government health plan.
The President doesn’t seem to be listening and certainly is stretching the truth with his platitudinal presentations concerning the “wonders” of his plan. The major media are also not listening. America does not want the Obama Plan with its additional cost of $1.6 trillion. That’s a lot of dollars and a lot more debt to give us a plan that will have us standing in line for medical treatment like they do in Canada and the United Kingdom.
In Canada it is reported that there are currently 885,000 people waiting their turn for treatment. This is in a country about 8% as populated as the United States.
We in addition have a great medical system in the area of greatest importance. That area is clearly the talent of our medical professionals that dispense the care to Americans. I haven’t heard of anybody leaving America to go to Canada or the U.K. to get treatment. There are an amazing number of people from other countries that regularly come to the U.S. seeking treatment here, which is not available in their native land.
Dorothy Rabinowitz in the Wall Street Journal- Opinion Journal wrote a great piece on Monday.
The following is a short quote from Dorothy’s Opinion piece.
“The president has a problem. For, despite a great election victory, Mr. Obama, it becomes ever clearer, knows little about Americans. He knows the crowds—he is at home with those. He is a stranger to the country’s heart and character.
He seems unable to grasp what runs counter to its nature. That Americans don’t take well, for instance, to bullying, especially of the moralizing kind, implicit in those speeches on health care for everybody. Neither do they wish to be taken where they don’t know they want to go and being told it’s good for them.
Who would have believed that this politician celebrated, above all, for his eloquence and capacity to connect with voters would end up as president proving so profoundly tone deaf? A great many people is the answer—the same who listened to those speeches of his during the campaign, searching for their meaning.
It took this battle over health care to reveal the bloom coming off this rose, but that was coming. It began with the spectacle of the president, impelled to go abroad to apologize for his nation—repeatedly. It is not, in the end, the demonstrators in those town-hall meetings or the agitations of his political enemies that Mr. Obama should fear. It is the judgment of those Americans who have been sitting quietly in their homes, listening to him.”

I listened carefully to the President speaking today in Portland New Hampshire. He said nothing to dissuade me from the belief that cutting the health options for older Americans is his primary cost saving plan. He said it again in the speech. He disguised the truth cleverly by describing that “the savings will come by eliminating unnecessary medical treatment for older Americans.”
That Mr. President doesn’t sound like any medical power I’m interested in turning over to you, Rahm Emanuel or Scary Nancy the Cruella De Vil of your Administration or any other government functionary. Government functionary is somewhat of an oxymoron. Where does this government really function? . The more I hear the more I think I am participating in a Tolkien novel in real life. I listen carefully and you are sounding more like a slick talking representative from Mordor every day. You, Scary Nancy and Harry are supposed to be the servants of the public not the masters. In all those secret courses at Occidental and Columbia it would have been useful if you had taken Government 101 and learned the definition of Public Service. You and your collection of Mordorites missed that course completely.
The turn around is taking place and America is starting to gear up for 2010. Tolkien gave us Gandolf to lead in his fictional conflict. We need leaders on the Conservative side of the issue to step forward armed with truth, virtue and an understanding of America’s founding principles. The new leaders in 2010 need to start with simple honesty and a determination to save us from this Statist tide that is sweeping us to uncharted levels of debt and government control. The whole nation will recognize honesty quickly. We have lived with self serving politicians too long and will see the contrast when we have the opportunity.

I think you may be right, Uncle Buck. You better get yourself to an audiologist, right quick. You’re hearing things that aren’t there!
