Obama: His Path to Adoration

Next week the President is scheduled to speak to the school children of America. This is an obvious first step in a plan to influence the thinking of the children at an impressionable time in their lives.

The intrusion of a sophisticated political intrusion into the curriculum of the public schools is without precedent in the U.S.. Roosevelt used the fireside chats on the radio to rally the nation around his Statist plans for the nation during a troubled time. Obama is taking a bolder step by striving to directly influence the thinking of the nations young people.

The Department of Education’s suggested lesson plan to accompany his presentation is the guide to the thinking of this administration and is a clear indication of the goals of the upcoming speech. Here are some examples taken directly from the Department of Education Lesson Plan

Students in grades pre-K-6, for example, are encouraged to “write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president. These would be collected and redistributed at an appropriate later date by the teacher to make students accountable to their goals.”
Teachers are also given guidance to tell students to “build background knowledge about the president of the United States by reading books about presidents and Barack Obama.”
During the speech, “teachers can ask students to write down key ideas or phrases that are important or personally meaningful.”
For grades 7-12, the Department of Education suggests teachers prepare by excerpting quotes from Obama’s speeches on education for their students to contemplate — and ask as questions such as “Why does President Obama want to speak with us today? How will he inspire us? How will he challenge us?”
Activities suggested for after the speech include asking students “what resonated with you from President Obama’s speech? What lines/phrase do you remember?”

There is an indication that the controversy created by the Obama plans to interject himself into the school day has caused the Department to alter the suggested Lesson Plan, but the revised plan is not yet available for review.

I don’t need a revision to form an opinion of the Administration plans to become directly involved in our children’s school day. It is simply outrageous. Even more outrageous is the Education community’s willing compliance in this blatant attempt to help create the image of Obama as The Great One in the minds of our youth.

There have been strident objections to the move by the Obama plan to speak to the schools with comparisons to the Hitler Youth movements of the 30’s being used as examples. I’m not happy with these extreme comparisons but the basic fears of government political propaganda as part of a National lesson plan is a legitimate concern.

The Obama speech should not be acceptable to any thinking parent or educator.
Obama is on TV constantly with presentations designed to strengthen his political future. Moving into the schools is taking a step beyond reasonable acceptance of his political actions. Reading the initially proposed Lesson Plan is a clear indication of the designs to make this Presidency into a cult like Obama adoration. There is a striking similarity to recent movement of governments to a socialist form with a Great Leader figure leading the adoring masses.

I would not be surprised to hear that there are huge billboards, depicting Obama in strong poses looking into a bright horizon, being prepared for national placement in urban areas.

The Obama moves seem to be a step by step copy of Eastern Europe Government controls of the 60’s and 70’s over their populations. The Statist movement is fully in bloom on our shores. It no longer is a creeping change of America.. The Constitutional protections are being swept aside as Obama leads us into a America that is being “Changed” into his vision of how we should be living our lives.

Obama and his people have more than 3 years in the Executive Branch of government left. We need to make sure that this is the limit of their governing period. The legislature can be changed in 2010 as the first step in saving the country. Replacing Nancy is the obvious key to this first step of recovery. We must prepare for that first step to slow down the changes being crammed through the legislature at record speeds.

“Tell Buck what you think”? Really? OK, if you wish.

I think Uncle Buck is a paranoid ultrarightwingnut racist crank.

Well, remember, you asked!

Here’s what Obama’s supposed to talk about:

“Help get America’s students engaged! On Tuesday, September 8 — the first day of school for many students — the President will talk directly to students across the country on the importance of taking responsibility for their education, challenging them to set goals and do everything they can to succeed.”

http://www.whitehouse.gov/mediaresources/

Now, what’s so damn radical, what’s so damn objectionable about any of that? Should students NOT take some responsibility for their education? Would it be better that they NOT be challenged to set goals for themslves? Might we prefer that students NOT succeed?

Any President of the United States shouuld be commended for thinking to take the time to speak to schoolkids on their first day of school. Even a liberal BLACK (eeeek!)President. Even if you can’t stand the fact that I and about 70 million of my fellow Americans elected him as OUR President.

Blind hatred will be the downfall of you and your ilk.

Diogenes,
Thanks for following my thoughts. Your hateful reaction demonstrates the problem that America has with folks like you who are unable to see beyond their narrow personal bias in a discussion.

Presidents from time to time have taken a photo op in a classroom to make a point about proposed legislation. Never before has a President(politician) interjected himself into the entire nations classrooms for a clearly political event.

Those who know me personally are somewhat bemused by your comments while getting a lesson in the myopia that directs the radical left tactic to level the “R” word into any criticism of the President.

A review of our conversations clearly indicates where the hatred resides. It is certainly not part of my writing or personal ethos.

Read the lesson plan that was sent by the Department of Education to accompany the speech and then you might get a glimmer of why the whole thing is simply a radical attempt to forward the Statist philosophy of this administration

Buck,
You are right on about the Eastern European comment. My family is from there and I have lived there as well. My family and friends that still live in Eastern Europe are all saying the same thing. They can see exactly where we are headed. When the commies took over they filled the tv with disrespect and porno shows….Gee…..you don’t have to be a channel hopper to see that happening here as well.
Mary

I read the lesson planS — there are two of them, in fact. One geared for pre K to 6th grade, another for 7th to 12th grade. How you and the rightwingnut tinfoil hat brigade can twist that stuff into “Statist propaganda” is simply unbelievable.

And, since you didn’t bother to address my questions to begin with, let me try again:

“Now, what’s so damn radical, what’s so damn objectionable about any of that? Should students NOT take some responsibility for their education? Would it be better that they NOT be challenged to set goals for themslves? Might we prefer that students NOT succeed?”

How the hell could ANYONE have a problem with that? And, since you DO obviously have such a huge problem with this 15 minute speech, your problem must originate from some other source. Say what you will, but racial animus is a better-than-even bet with most rightwingnuts. The thought of a progressive black man standing before schoolkids as our President is just a thought they cannot stomach. If you’re NOT one of them, congratulations. You’re in the extreme minority of the extreme minority.

Diogenes,
Examining my view concerning our “progressive” President I find my thoughts closely in line with those that I feel about the Carter years. My feelings about the destructive nature of his agenda have little to do with race. Progressive as a separate issue, I am proud that America put race aside when voting in the last election. It is a shame that we elected the wrong man. Race is not a contributing factor in my evaluation as to the error in our judgment. He is the wrong man and will no doubt be a one termer. I simply hope that the destruction wrought by Nancy, Harry, Rahm and Obama can be reversed at an early date

I understand, Uncle Buck. We’re still trying to recover from eight years of Bushie and The Big Dick. It’s tough work!

Hey, Uncle Buck? You feel any more stupid now that the speech is over and all your Chicken Little predictions never came to pass?

What a joke!
