Obama Health Plan-Still Alive
David Axelrod is a senior adviser to President Obama. In the administration’s attempt to re-energize the Health Plan consideration, he made the following statement.
“As a political matter, the foolish thing to do would be for anybody else who supported this to walk away from it,” he said. “The underlying elements of it are popular and important, and people will never know what’s in that bill until we pass it, the president signs it and they have a whole new range of protections they never had before.”
A majority of Americans are not in favor of this bill being enacted. His suggestion indicates a complete disregard for the public view. His statement that the public will not know what is in the bill until it is passed and the president signs it is a clear indication of the unbridled arrogance of this administration.
Axelrod treats the issue as if the public were kids at Christmas with wrapped presents under the tree. We like children are sure to love the presents that Obama has wrapped in a 2000 page piece of legislation. Axelrod doesn’t think we need to know the details, we should sit back and trust the Obama gift givers.
There are a few items that Axlerod has not spelled out in his statement. The public may not know all the details in that 2000 page “present” but they understand who is going to pay for it, The presents selected to wrap and put under the tree do not have a bill attached for the recipients to pay in January. The Presidents Health Plan has a big bill attached.
Watch closely. The administration is acting to rework the presentation , not the bill.
The President is structuring a populist smoke and mirrors act with new proposals to ease the burden of the middle class by enlarging child and elder care programs. These proposals are clearly political moves with little substance involved
It is impossible for these people to deal with truth. Their proposals in every instance indicate their disdain for the population they are governing. Their inability to understand that jobs are the issue needing attention is a clear indication that they really don’t know what is needed or maybe simply are incapable of doing the job of running the country.
I think that is the situation. We simply need to fire them in 2010.
I heard a suggestion last week: We can help to decrease crime in America by reelecting no one.

Even Bill Clinton understood the key issues when he ran his first term. The mantra was, “it’s the economy, stupid”. People had to ask themselves if they were better off than they were 4 years earlier and for many the answer was “no”. Obama and his liberal cohorts are watching unemployment rise along with the number of home foreclosure rates. Still they seem determined to pass legislation such as health care, cap and trade, and pork-filled stimulus bills that will only make matters worse for all America. Obama pledged to not raise taxes on anyone making more than $250K per year, but all of these programs hit the poor and middle class the hardest.
Even Bill Clinton understood that the American people didn’t want legislation that was a “surprise”. If you can’t explain what is in the bill, then it must not be good.
It’s time to take back our Congress in 2010 and our White House in 2012.

People shouldn’t feel helpless to change the way our elected officials behave. The recent Massachusetts senatorial election clearly shows that voters can make a difference in governance.
Let’s only elect people to congress who know why they’re there and who sent them.
