Obama and High Blood Pressure

In recent weeks I have had a disturbing but small elevation of blood pressure. Nothing too alarming but slightly concerning since this is a problem never before experienced. In the course of a conversation with some college students that work for my son I casually mentioned my concern. One of the guys quickly interjected: ”You don’t need to see a doctor. I can tell you how to correct that”. He said: “Simply stop reading your Blog. I think everyone’s blood pressure goes up 10 points when they read your typical Post about the Obama Administration..”
He might have a point but I haven’t figured out how to write it without reading it.

I wake up each day thinking about great places I have visited and start to mentally compose a piece that might be useful to readers planning a trip. I then make the mistake of going to Google and bringing up the latest news and an Administration video or two. Inevitably there HE is, smoothly reading a teleprompter about a new plan that initially sounds great but will be different two days later as it starts to morph into a form that will expand the government control of another segment of our life.

If your blood pressure is low and could use a bit of elevation consider that:

Chrysler is into bankruptcy and the proposal to get the balance of the 8 billion on the table that is needed for survival has the Union in control of the Board of Directors with a number of additional seats appointed by the Administration. Sounds like Nationalization to me.

Nineteen major banks were recently given a “so called” stress test and 13 of them were found to need additional capital infused to bring them to a level of liquidity that meets government requirements. Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Citi Group are reported to be three of those needing to raise additional capital. I can see where this is now going. He read a book on banking last week when he finished the “Operating the Auto Industry for Idiots” book and is readying a move to nationalize the banks.

There has been much discussion for months about what type of adjudication should be used to address the terrorist captives requirements for trial. The question has been argued between those involved, whether a Military Tribunal or Civilian Court should try the captives. The Obama Justice Department (Eric Holder) decided to shorten the discussion by just turning one of them loose.. No trial, no nothing, just turn him loose and send him back to England. The Department of Justice seems to be indicating that they are leaning to turning many of the remaining terrorists loose in the U.S. if they are determined to no longer be a threat.

Obama announced his plan to go after those companies that have moved offshore and are avoiding paying U.S. taxes. He characterized these companies as some kind of evil tax dodgers even though they are operating under current laws. While making this pronouncement of getting these tax dodgers he had at his side Ted Geithner our Secretary of the Treasury. Remember that Geithner was discovered to have federal tax delinquencies, one of which was taking his son’s summer camp tuition as a business expense. He was approved as Secretary of The treasury despite this tax deficiency by Obama and his minions in Congress.

Blood pressure went up 20 points on this move by Obama. It seemed like a declaration by Obama that businesses were to operate primarily for funding HIS government. I believe the arrogance of the announcement with Geithner by his side is a foreshadowing of darker days ahead for America.

There was no mention that companies often moved offshore for many legitimate business reason including the fact that the U.S. has the second highest rate of business taxes in the industrialized sector of the world. The National Heath Plan we all need involves taking blood pressure readings several times a day and having 911 on your speed dial. This might be prudent preparation for the President’s next press conference.

I wish I was simply Joe Six Pack and could relax with the Phillies and Nuggets on their current winning ways and have that excitement as the only one affecting my blood pressure. Obama just won’t let me do that.

Now you have my blood pressure elevated! However, I must admit that the mere mention of his name has the same effect. At my annual checkup I will probably be told to stop reading and/or listening to TV.
