Obama’s War
I have been writing about life in the mountains for a week waiting to see what kind of Afghanistan strategy The President and Rahm Emanuel have decided to pursue.
It is becoming increasingly difficult to write about this administration since they continuously make decisions outside of any recognized sane thinking process.
Obama gave a careful review of his reasons that the war in Afghanistan must be pursued and then won. He committed 30,000 troops to the task which seemed like a good idea but then went to the World Boxing Association for his outline of the rules of the fight
Like a championship boxing match he put a time limit on the contest. Instead of a 15 round fight he decided this match would be 18 months and then it would be over. I’m trying to wrap my mind around the rules of the Obama Afghan strategy and am having a bit of a problem. In a boxing match if there is no knockout the three judges score the blows of each round and declare a winner. Who are the judges in the Obama War and do the opponents agree to his rules. Is there a rematch policy involved if the loser feels the judges were unfair?
I think that the Taliban and Al-Qaeda management teams are now deciding where to spend the next 18 months. They are probably looking for 18 month sub-let deals on condos in Dubai, Sanibel Island, Hawaii and various other pleasant environments.
I did some research on previous declarations concerning the start of a war. FDR took a different tack after the Dec7 attack on Pearl Harbor. I found no time limits in his speech to the Congress and the Nation. He essentially said we would do whatever it takes to make our enemies pay for the attack on the U.S.A. No time limit, no budget limits only the goal of total victory with no conditions. I wonder what Winston Churchill would say about the Obama declaration of war. He probably wouldn’t say much other than that Obama had no clue what war was about and a policy for losing always involved time limits.
Obama has a time limit on every major decision and that involves his reelection strategy.
The 18 month end of our involvement in battle means that he will strike up the band playing “When Johnny Comes Marching Home” in time for his next election.
The bad news and serious tax increases involved with his Health Plan are scheduled to happen shortly after his reelection campaign.
No politics were supposed to be involved in his war strategy. Who is kidding who? This administration is all about politics and control of every important aspect of American life.
These people are the ultimate Statist believers. What you and I think does not matter. They believe they know better on every important issue. War, Health and the Environment are too important for our desires to enter their determination. Obama, Pelosi and Reid with coach Emanuel in the background will take care of those issues.
There is no need for you to worry. Just reelect them and all will be well.
