Obama’s Healthcare Proposal for Elderly Euthanasia

There has been no doubt in my mind that the elimination of treatment for the elderly is a primary cost saving aspect of the Obama Heath Plan . There is a sector of the proposal that will require a periodic government health status review for Medicare recipients. The wording clearly indicates that self euthanasia is one of the government supported options that will be suggested to older Americans who have a costly medical requirement. The Obama plan clearly plans to reduce options for care when the need involves a Medicare recipient

Our American health system provides excellent service to all Americans. The need for medical treatment adjustments is not the question. The adjusted need involves the money and not the care. If an uninsured individual is hit by a car and severely injured, care will be given, whether the injured has insurance or not. The question is how the payment is received. It becomes a collection problem, not a medical problem. To let the elderly die to pay for the Obama plan does not seem like a very admirable solution. I especially do not like the plan or the people who are proposing that I should quietly die or take a pill to hurry my demise along if I get an expensive health problem.

This plan is so crazy that I am at a loss to describe my objections with any sense of order.

A friend to whom I often listen seriously, has said to me that “we need to have a national discussion on the areas of your concern.” That suggestion among calm sensible people is something I might agree to try. Turning the determination of my, soon to be, government limited lifespan over to in a discussion led by Nancy, Harry and Al Franken is not an option I would easily agree to….

This trio should be limited to deciding how many clowns can be crammed into the tiny car that is part of almost every circus act. It is incredible that so little talent has taken up so much room in the seats of Congress these days. Not only is that incredible but incredulous is the adjective that is needed to describe the low level of leadership in this Congress.

I hope I can survive the Health Plan long enough to cast a vote in 2010 for Health Plan revision that will require mental stability as a requirement to serve in The House or The Senate.

“There is a sector of the proposal that will require a periodic government health status review for Medicare recipients.”

No, there isn’t. It’s a lie. This trying-to-scare-the-crap-out-of-seniors approach is something that is just reprehensible.

If you bothered to read that clause in the proposal (instead of depending upon some other rightwingnut blog for your “informaton”) you would see it for what it is. The proposal allows Medicare to pay for a consultation to discuss issues like living wills, etc. IF YOU WANT IT. There’s no mandatory requirement for anyone to do it; it merely pays for it (once every five years) if you want it.

No “periodic government health status review”. Sorry to blow your hateful conspiracy theory.

Diogenes, Not only am I reading that clause but am wading through the whole bill. If you take the time to read from pages 350 to 425 you will find the euthanasia section of the bill. The physician assisted suicide section can be found if you read it.
I have no hateful conspiracy. I recognize that the people who promote abortion are now putting together a plan to kill unwanted elderly folks as they now kill unwanted children.

I’m not trying to scare seniors(I am one) I’m giving my view
It is interesting how the Obama Cult immediately tries to silence opposing opinions by calling them rightwingnut or racist.

If you are reading the correct section, and if you understand what it says, all it does is allow those services (living wills, durable POAs, etc) to be paid by Medicare IF the patient wants it. There’s no compulsion whatsoever. There IS no “euthanasia” either specifically mentioned or implied. There IS no “physician assisted suicide” either specifically mentioned or implied. That’s completely made up, fabricated, LIED ABOUT. And if you think you’ve found something, please tell us. Every page is numbered, and every line on every page is numbered, so please, enlighten us. Show everybody where it says what you say it says. You can’t. It doesn’t exist.

Check for yourselves, folks. Don’t take some other guy’s word for it — especially when that guy has an agenda.

You’re entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. What you claim as “fact” is clearly not the case. And, when people see things that aren’t there, I think of them as “nuts”. Sorry, but my bias is for truth.

This proposal is a response to those families who didn’t know their loved ones’ preferences when confronted with difficult decisions in an emergency. It empowers individuals to choose the best decisions for themselves, and better ensure their wishes are followed.

Section 1233 of the health care reform bill is being deliberately distorted.
Fact: Advance planning consultations are a completely voluntary, not mandatory.
Fact: No one will be forced to sign an advance care directive.
Fact: The legislation is endorsed by the Providence Health System, a Catholic health care provider.
Fact: Only a doctor or nurse practitioner can counsel patients.

Oops, sorry for not adding my info:

We put Dr Caborkian in jail for helping people die with some dignity and now they want us to take a pill and just die.Who died and made them God. What right does Obama have to tell us how to live our lives. Are we suppose to live in pain and suffering because we are older? Don’t these politicians have older family members who need decent health care? Oh, I forget, they have the money to make sure their family members don’t suffer. How Ironic is this?

Robbie, wake up, buy a vowel, READ, for chrissakes! Obama’s not giving anybody a pill to die.

Say what you will, but the gullible willingness of rightwingnuts to believe the most preposterous things about this President HAS to be, in many cases, based on racial differences. There’s always animosity between parties, but the “loyal opposition” has become so DISloyal and, quite frankly, batshit crazy that there has to be a reason. No other President has taken office with as many problems as Obama has faced, and yet faced such massive opposition at every turn. It must be purposeful.

diogenes, Read a history of Presidents. No President had as many problems? Did you ever hear of Washington, Jackson, Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, Johnson, Reagan
George W Bush(remember 9-11) Many presidents faced great challenges. They all did not handle challenges well.
This President is maybe the worst prepared, least able of all the Presidents. ( maybe Carter was worse)

I overstated the case. I meant no “modern” President, meaning since FDR.

NO President has an easy job; that’s why we elected the best man (or,someday, woman) for the job. But I stand by my statement that no recent President was walked into the job with more problems hitting them simultaneously from the outset.

Truman? He made a momumental decision in dropping the atomic bombs to end WWII, but the war was completely over in Europe and was in its death throes in the Pacific.

Eisenhower? Oh, come on! As a President, Ike was one helluva general in WWII. He got us out of a hole in Korea, but otherwise? No.

Johnson? What crises did LBJ have handed to him after JFK was assassinated? He accomplished a lot with the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and he was inept with his handling of Vietnam.

Reagan? Wow. I mean, I know that Ronnie has been canonized within Republican circles, but what crises did he handle? And please don’t tell us he killed Communism; he gave it a shove, and it crumbled under its own weight.

And Bush? BUSH? He sat around with his thumb up his butt, wondering how in the hell he got so lucky having his guys steal Florida. And then, nine months in, he had to deal with 9-11…. and the aftermath, when it became clear that their were voices within his own administration that were trying to warn him about Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, but they couldn’t get George off the golf course long enough to get his attention. Bush never handled crises; crises handled Bush.

Wow, Diogenes, you have to be THE most typecast left-winger I have seen in recent history. One would almost think you were some sort of “expert” on politics and political history. I almost laughed myself to tears reading your rhetoric.

@Marco I know what your mean. In the current economy its hard to find a job that pays good enough to live on and is consistent. I have found that if you just work hard and are consistent you can go places . Look at the poster of this article, they are clearly hard working and have just been consistent over time and are now enjoying at least what would appear as somewhat of a success. I would encourage everyone to just keep hustling and moving forward.
