New Zealand as an Alternative to Obama
In a conversation with an old friend he said he was looking to buy property in New Zealand now that Obama has succeeded in the first step for the governments redistributing of my friends wealth and life’s efforts.
Sounds a bit drastic but on reflection not so extreme as it might first seem.
It takes a bit of doing to migrate to New Zealand. The fence around the Islands is an ocean of thousands of miles. It’s not an easy place to swim to or row a boat as an entry strategy. New Zealand already has a financial strategy for their Health Plan. They won’t let you in the country unless you pay for the insurance first. We might study New Zealand carefully before we decide to address our immigration policy
There are a few other requirement to check before you decide to immigrate tp new Zealand. If you are interested in a short term residency of two years or longer term of 4 years you best have a deep pocket. Depending on your intent New Zealand might welcome you but may require a million dollars NZ to be invested in an approved manner such as New Zealand Government Bonds
There are opportunities for folks who want to move there who don’t have a million dollars. New Zealand has a Skilled Migrant Category for potential immigrants.
If you have a skill or talent that New Zealand needs you can submit an EOI (expression of interest). There is then an evaluation and scoring process which may lead to an invitation to apply for Skilled Immigrant status.
To get into New Zealand as a skilled migrant resident there is a clearly outlined process.
The first step says:
To apply under the Skilled Migrant Category, you must meet our requirements. You need to be aged from 20-55 (inclusive). You also have to meet our standards of health, character, and English language proficiency before you start the process.
What it is with these New Zealanders don’t they want the unskilled non English speaking poor from around the world. They seem unreasonably to want the character of their country to remain as it is. They seem to be OK people when you meet them but these unfair racist immigration policies seem to be from a different era. They certainly don’t understand the open door , let everyone in, skilled or unskilled as is the policy of our country.
I am not sure my friend has researched this fully. Why would anyone want to live in a country where experience in a trade, talent or skills needed by the country and English as a language are immigration requirements.
