Matt Lauer- What are You Really Doing?

I have been ruminating on Matt Lauer’s interview of the President for a week. Matt is a sometimes interviewer of prominent politicians. His style is smooth, he looks good and can be counted upon to ask nothing of importance when interviewing the President or other administration officials.

Matt is an example of the weakness of the media performing as the 4th Estate in this generation. Matt gave us an example of softball interviewing when he interviewed the President after the approval of the Heath Reform Bill.

Obama at one point of the interview opined that Americans would come to welcome his bill once the benefits were understood. He further stated that he understood that there was a small group of people that never would agree with him no matter what he did and gave as an example those folks that continue to question his birth as a U.S. citizen.

I called at the TV for Matt to take this moment to act as a reporter and follow up with a related question. The questions to be asked at that moment could be: Mr. President wouldn’t it be useful concerning this issue if you had not caused all records of your education and early activities in politics to be sequestered from public view? Why are these records hidden?

Matt of course did not hear my shouted suggestion and moved on with his softball pretense of an interview.

I am pretty sure that the birth question is a bogus attack on the President but there is a real question as to what he is hiding and why the secrecy takes place.. Birth is not the only requirement to hold the office of the Presidency. Perhaps there are other issues hidden in the college records that might be embarrassing at best and maybe seriously place his legitimacy in doubt.

The media is certainly doing an excellent job of pumping the Obama balloon. The treaty with Russia concerning the reduction of nuclear weapons is a case in point. The agreement is certainly a positive step, but heralding the Obama accomplishment as historic is more than simply overstating the event. It seemed like a massively staged public relations campaign promoted by news sources. Not only was the coverage description unwarranted, but unnoticed and unreported was the fact that the last such reduction was by George Bush in the first year of his Presidency. The reduction he negotiated was significantly larger than the Obama effort. Did any news agency report this fact? I didn’t see it mentioned.

There are many such incidents that provide evidence of media bias. The question needed to be asked is why do they so blatantly skew the reporting of fact to promote Obama.

Is there a Cabal actually taking place between Progressives and the media to restructure America in a Statist model? This is hard to believe but I am at a loss trying to explain the general lack of independence being exhibited by the media on the question of sequestered records.

Mr. President, tell us what the secrecy is all about.
