Kahled Sheikh Mohammed, Eric Holder and the President
KSM is the new recruit to the Obama political team . The Attorney General Eric Holder, I am sure. did not make the decision to try KSM and his terrorist cohorts in New York City without the approval of the President with Rahm Emanuel’s political advice.
This disgraceful decision to bring these terrorist to a civilian court is so outrageous that I have been looking at the computer for 4 days trying to figure out what Holder is thinking.
I have also been reliving the hour I spent on the relative’s platform overlooking the destruction where nearly 3000 lives were lost on 9-11. Although not a relative I had talked my way onto the platform to share my grief with those who were so directly devastated by the act of terrorism planned by Kahlid Sheikh Mohammed and his fellow terrorists.
That hour of my life is one that has every minute firmly fixed in my memory. Years have passed but the emotion remains only slightly below my conscious everyday actions. Obama and Holder are not my favorites but this decision that they have made has moved them into a category of individuals who have no understanding or care about the danger to our country posed by people like KSM. The political benefit to the Administration is all that seems to matter to Obama and his supporters.
These terrorists being afforded access to our courts with all the protection of an American citizen is a decision that ranks with the most disgraceful of any made by a President.
The trial will allow the terrorists to spew their hate for America to the world on a daily basis. The actions of the CIA in obtaining the confessions will be reviewed publicly by defense attorneys. A further attack by the defense on the Bush Administration and Cheney is obviously part of the plan in bringing this case to a civilian court.
We need 2010 to start our nation’s recovery from these type of actions which have placed the decisions for America out of sight while the Obama Administration plans each move for political advantage. A benefit for America does not enter their planning. Sickening, is the adjective for this, their latest decision

Excellent comments! It should be noted that Holder has said that in the event that any terrorist is acquitted, they will still be held under the foreign combatant rulings. If they are foreign combatants, then why the trial and why the risk of acquittal? If there is an acquittal, don’t you think there would be such pressure as to force Obama and Holder to RELEASE the detainee?
I think you are right on point that this is entirely about making public everything that these cases would expose. From how we track, capture, and maintain custody of these terrorists to allowing them access to daily press conferences, it will be a travesty. Remember the trial of Zacarias Moussaoui? He was the 2oth hijacker who used our criminal proceedings to waste millions of taxpayers dollars, spew his hatred for the US, and tie up our courts.
Obama and Holder will amplify the impact of the Moussaoui trial more than ten-fold costing us even more money and all the while, the actual cases that belong in the courts will not have their due process because of the tie up this will create.
