Health Plan: Is it Really That Bad?
Watching Obama and the 219 Representatives celebrate their Health Plan victory was a scene that totally mystified me. I understand the Obama Statist determination to have government run our lives but how there are 219 elected officials celebrating this plan is a worrisome event.
There may be many of those who voted for this bill for personal political survival reasons. There are others who have a true belief that this is the Bill America needs but 219 celebrants is a number that is the mystery. This bill looks to me like the beginning of a new America, which may be new but not very promising
Forget the health and tax aspect for just a minute. This Obama Bill dictates to Americans that they each must buy a product that the government requires them to purchase. There is no individual choice allowed to opt out . Each American must follow the government order to buy or be fined and later maybe imprisoned. Every business with more than 50 employees must provide a government dictated heath plan for those 50 or more employees. If the business does not follow the government dictates they will be fined $2000 per employee.
$100,000 fine is not chump change for a small business. The growing business with 35 employees might very well decide not to hire the next 15 employees so they can avoid the potential penalties of the Obama plan
The Capital gains tax rate is rising, the individual tax rates are rising as are about every other tax rate to pay for this legislation. The CBO estimates of the cost of the bill are obviously much too low even to this non professional actuarial view. Joyful celebrants are having their celebration over a political victory not over a Health plan that will benefit America. It is another financially ill designed entitlement that is primarily structured to help Obama maintain his control of government.
Twelve states are initiating legal action questioning whether the Health Bill ignores Constitutional requirements especially in the area of dictating the purchase of a product by every American.
The destructive nature of the Obama Bill will unfold over the next few years but the action of the 12 States may well be the precursor to a serious National challenge over the growth of the Federal Government beyond the limitations outlined in the Constitution
Obama has clearly indicated that the Constitution will not be viewed as a restriction on his design for America’s new Socialist government.
The Obama Health Plan is more than simply bad. It is a disaster just beginning. The celebrants with Obama may very well be dancing on the grave of a great America, that they just buried.

Whether or not the health care bill which was just passed into law is good or bad depends on where you are in life. Actually, it depends on many things.
1). Medicaid enrollment will grow to enormous proportions. I have not read in the bill that doctors are required to accept Medicaid. I know that they are not required to accept Medicare, so figure it out!
2). For those individuals who decide that they cannot afford to purchase (affordable) health care, and may face a reality of being fined - please remember that our government cannot collect taxes that are due! How in the world is anyone going to go after those who can least afford anything in this world? If you levy a tax for not purchasing health care - what then? Does the government take away your personal property? Government doesn’t have the man power to do anything. This will only burden the system to the point of being ridiculous.
3). To have the deferral of preexisting conditions for adults to not kick in until the year 2014 is an insult to my dog’s intelligence! This truly could be touted as the death panel. You can call it anything you so please, but it’s outrageous at best.
4). Medicare - Can anyone tell me what is going to be edited out of this vehicle that those over 65 actually DO depend on, and it actually works?
5). The expansion in dollars to the donut hole is not even enough to purchase a donut!
I do believe in health care reform. I think this country desperately needs smart people to take on the issues. However, at the end of the day, my position is probably more akin to that of Michael Moore. I too would have voted for this bill, but it in no way should be called reform.
