Health Care or Obama Obstanacy
Anyone who thinks the Obama Health Care bill is about health hasn’t really been thinking. This bill is about the Obama administration making it’s next political move in taking over the economic structure of America.
No doubt, no question that is absolutely what is happening. Who wants the bill being proposed. Not the public. Polls indicate that nearly 75% of Americans are satisfied with the health coverage they currently have in place.
Dennis Kneale of CNBC has likened Obama to Ahab strapped to the white whale of a trillion dollar overhaul of health care. Kneale has correctly pointed out that the passage of the Bill is probably going to happen and sink the Democrat Party in the next election and defeat Obama when he runs in 3 years. This may be the case but we will be saddled with a financial disaster of a bill that will diminish the quality of care and be another step in the growth of government entitlements.
The entitlement issue is at the heart of the Obama effort. It is his plan for another step in creating dependency on the government for the major part of our lives. The economic reality is that Obama and his “Progressive” supporters will control another 1/6 of the American economy when the health bill is passed .
The bill as written will provide care for illegal immigrants, help finance abortions and limit availability of care for the elderly. Business will be required to provide coverage levels determined by the government or be fined 8% or 6% of their payroll. The government will be able to electronically deduct payment from business bank accounts. The elderly will have medical procedures determined by government agencies. End of life plans will involve government employees in “helping” to make those plans.
The continued denials by the President, concerning the rationing of care under his bill is simply not true. Read the bill or one of the many analysis available on line. This Bill is another major step to change America into the vision of the Statist advocates.
Who are these Statists? They are the Obama supporters who believe that the people need the government to guide their lives. They are the folks who truly believe that they know what is best for you and that the people are not capable of making the major decisions of life. Government will take care of you, is their belief as to how things should work.
About 60% of American do not support the bill. This group is the target of the administrations effort to change minds. The President has canceled a scheduled trip to Asia so that he can continue his strong arm tactics on legislators to pass the bill. The Democrat controlled Congress plans to use a Reconciliation strategy to get the bill.
This is a stretch of Reconciliation, which was never intended to be used for a bill such as this one. Reconciliation was intended to be used to overcome a budget crises. It was not intended for use in an effort to push through a bill designed for massive change in the structure of the government.
Reconciliation is being used to avoid the rights of the minority in Congress. No rule ,precedent or desire of the people means anything to the ideologically unified troika of Obama, Reid and Pelosi.
They will change the rules, ignore the Constitution and give a thumb to the nose as an answer to dissident concerns of citizens. Obama will not consider any deviation in plans to change the governing of America to his vision of government control of our lives.
The White Whale of the Obama’s administration is his Health Bill. He has forgotten in just a few weeks his solemn pledge to work on jobs as the priority. He does not care where that whale takes us as a nation. He and all of us may be dragged to the depths because of his obstinate determination to saddle us with this monster of a Health Bill.

Oppositon to the bill has been unanimous by Republicans and several conservative leaning Democrats for very good reasons. It would be bad law and plunge our nation into an abyss of debt.
Despite the President’s full time lobbying efforts this past week, public opposition still stands between 52% and 58% according to the Rasmussen polls quoted in today’s WSJ.
This president is not tuned in, he is blinded by his selfish ambiton to pass this “hallmark” of his administration’s legislative agenda.
It would worry me greatly If this bill was to suddenly garner adequate support to pass in the House, It would mean that some very serious and very ugly horse trading went on to get the additional votes.
This would add to the anger and frustration of those who know this Healthcare bill in its current state is a disaster that will haunt our children’s children for decades.
