Harry, Harry—So Easily Predictable

I posted a warning that the President’s call for a bipartisan approach to a Jobs Bill was fraught with danger towards any sincere effort by thoughtful Senators of each party.

Senate Democrat, Max Baucus of Montana worked with Republican Charles Grassley of Iowa and quickly came up with a bill that was thought to meet concerns of each side of the issue. Republican proposed tax breaks for small business was an important part of the bill that each side agreed was acceptable and an important part of a bipartisan proposal.

The proposed bill was sent to Harry Reid for consideration. Harry rejected the effort out of hand and substituted his proposal. All Republican suggestions agreed by the Democrat negotiators were taken out of the bill that Harry substituted as his answer to the job problem. Harry watered down the bill to a level that he figured would bring political benefit to the Democrat candidates in the next election. Actual stimulation of employment was not the primary concern of Harry’s jobs bill

When questioned as to his hope for support from Republicans his answer was a brainless reversion to a totally political approach. Harry said that the Republican’s would not have the courage to oppose his bill because it was a JOBS BILL. He further said, any bill proposed to create jobs could not be opposed without political benefit to Democrats in the next election.

Nancy Pelosi has jumped into the conversation with a demand the jobs bill be expanded to include funding for local governments. This funding would support school budgets and those teachers union concerns of which Nancy is supportive.

Actual creation of jobs seem to disappear as a concern of Nancy and Harry. Calling this spending bill as a Jobs Bill is their important concern in creating another useless spending activity designed solely for political gain in and to maintain their leadership positions in Congress.

I chronicled my concerns in a previous post when the President called for bipartisan action on jobs. I did not expect such blatant disregard for the Presidents call for bipartisan action by his own party leadership.

The clarion call to action in 2010 has been clearly sounded this week. These people must be put out of office. We have the Executive office occupied by a President who can’t even lead his own party no less the entire Nation. We have the Senate and House under control of individuals who are prepared to disassemble America and disregard the President who supposedly is going to lead us to that undefined Change we heard about so often a year ago.

The Democrats would not be recognized as such by Harry Truman or JFK. They are clearly now, a bunch of witless fools with little regard for our Constitution or Country.
