Change Mr. President?: This Isn’t What you Meant. Is it?

I think what the President needs at this moment in structuring his administration is a 30 second time out. Things are too critical to take a full time out but a change of current momentum is needed. He is saddled with a crowd of Clintonestas who are doing him and the country no favors. Who is doing the current vetting in DC? President Obama needs to get tough with that crew today.

Mr. President remember you are from Chicago. There must be some Chicago techniques that could be outlined to the vetting team that would convince them to do a better job. Rahm Emanuel should be able to set the agenda for their next efforts in finding you some appropriate people to effectuate “The Change” we were promised.

I wonder how all these “honest” tax errors are in favor of the political tax payer. Isn’t there ever an honest error where one of these politicians overpays concerning their tax liabilities? I understand loyalty but people like Tom Daschle are owed nothing. I am finding it hard to understand how a tax evasion of $125,000 was an honest error and not reported to you as a possible problem in your first month on the job. The same story with Richardson and his grand jury investigation not being immediately divulged when you offered him the job. I won’t go through the growing list of embarrassments. I believe you and I and the rest of our country deserve better than this type of person being in high office. Let’s get past this now. You have a chance to be more than a symbol of our countries progress in affording expanded opportunity for people of color. We are over that excitement and need you to start leading us out of a recession and two wars that need to be won.

If you are in need of suggestions for a vetting team that will make sure you will not be embarrassed for at least a little while, there are people waiting to help. Waiting to help, not to get a job. Harry Truman comes to mind when I think of your dilemma. He came out of a political situation in Missouri much like yours. He had cronies from St. Louis lined up for favors and jobs. He too had a war. A big one and pretty much told his old political troops that the oval office was a new deal for them all, not a New Deal.

He said some interesting things one of which was “I’ll stand by you, but if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen”. Mr. President it is up to you to put some real heat on those around you to do the right thing for America. What is needed is to find the answers for economic stabilization from whatever side of the political aisle they originate.

Your election was a historic event and we all understand that. The real lasting history is yours, with your team to create. We really need you to be more than a footnote. I’m of a different political bent than you but I am an American before my political leanings and ready to help. Feel free to call if you run out of candidates for that vetting job. I know a bunch of talented people ready to ignore political constraints, who would gladly volunteer, to assist you through the current problem period.

Now that was an article that I can say I was proud to have read……or to have contributed to in any life form! Everyone likes to hear their own thoughts come back to them whether in verbal form or in writing. When in the form of writing, all the better. You can clip the article and pin it on the wall! Great stuff. But I do certainly hope that you flipped this copy off to the White House! Wouldn’t want you to think that you’re preaching to the choir!
