Birthers, Judge David Carter and October 5th

At a dinner last weekend the Obama birth question became a topic of conversation. This was very unusual since this group of friends generally avoid serious political discussions. The avoidance is due to the wide divergence of opinion among the group which can disturb a congenial social evening.

The discussion took place without rancor becoming part of the conversation. There was a general questioning attitude that prevailed. The questions were not all about the legitimacy of the, so called, Birthers contention that the President is not a natural born citizen. The comments included some that contended that this could not be serious since the media has not covered the issue as a major event. The fact that the President through his supporters had deflected numerous court challenges was not generally known. There was a general acknowledgment that the major news channels could no longer be counted on to report the news without slanting coverage towards previously formed biases.

The decision of US District Judge David Carter to hold a trial on the subject of the Constitutional legitimacy of our President has been barely covered by the major media. It turns out that there have been numerous attempts by individuals and groups to bring this question to trial for months. It has further been indicated that the Obama camp has spent between $1,000,000 and $1,500,000 on legal fees blocking every attempt to try this issue in court.

Judge Carter is known as a no nonsense guy who served in the United States Marine Corps honorably and is a recipient of a Bronze Star and The Purple Heart. He was appointed by President Clinton in 1998. Carter stated in the decision to hold a trial that “if there is a Constitutional question there should be a trial to determine the issue.”

The lawyer for each side submitted motions. The plaintiffs asked for Discovery to be ordered and the Obama attorneys entered a petition to dismiss. A hearing on these motions has been set for October 5th. The trial date in January has also been set.

A trial seems to be a sensible step that is needed to end the squabbling between the Birthers and the Obama people. These are the type of issues that need the court to decide what needs to be the answer to this very important Constitutional question.

My dinner panel decided that more information was needed before a decision could be reached. The Birthers in the crowd look forward to their issue finally being heard in court. The Obama supporters remained unconvinced that this was even an issue to be argued. All agreed that if Obama showed up with a legitimate proof of citizenship that meets Constitutional requirements a big mess would be avoided. We all further agreed that some decent, honest investigative reporting would be helpful to us all.

The group all was pretty much in agreement in the hope that Obama meets the standard needed to proceed with his Presidency. The right side of the dinner table figured that he would be a one timer and 2010 would stay the unpleasant current course of the administration.. The left side of the table was obviously in favor of their hero being able to continue unimpeded in the desire to convert our country to a Statist form of governing for our future. The independent voice at the table expressed the view that powerful pressure on Judge Carter would cause the action to go no further than the hearing on October 5th

October 5th could be a momentous day in our history. Stay tuned, in case one of the major media outlets decides to do a decent job of reporting. I think that is very unlikely but who knows? That dream might come true since miracles sometimes seem to happen.

Man. You say Obama should produce “a legitimate proof of citizenship that meets Constitutional requirements…”

HE ALREADY HAS. His COLB, verified under oath by the head of Hawaii’s Health Dept., is sufficient. It has allowed him to obtain a passport, security clearance, etc.

There is absolutely nothing to this. He was born in Hawaii.

If any of you still have any doubts as to Obama’s legitimacy, I have only this to say:

I’ve had balls of navel lint that could outsmart you.
It’s amazing you can find your way out of your own house in the morning.
It is frightening that you drive a car.
No amount of chlorine could ever sanitize your gene pool.
You provide reasonable doubt as to the theory of “intelligent life on earth.”
You should be packed in bubble-wrap for your own safety and that of others.
Any bus you ride in will be seen as way too long.
You make Carrie Prejean look like Marie Curie.
You would be ineligible for the show “Are you smarter than a fifth-grader?”. . . you would have to find one called “Are you smarter than slime mold?”

As long as you claim Obama wasn’t born in Hawaii, we will continue to mock you. . . just as if you contended the moon were made of green cheese.

Thomas,
It’s always amusing to hear from a student of Saul Alinsky using Rule#4 of The Rules for Radicals as if we all didn’t know the game you are playing

The game is now being played in Federal District Court so you can save the childish nonsense as play moves to the next square on October 5th.

Dear Mr. Brown,

How long have you been brain-washed? Obama could have been born on the White House steps and he still wouldn’t be a “natural born” citizen, failing to meet the founding fathers Constitutional requirements. Well go ahead and step up for your vaccination and please by all means get a bumper sticker that reads “The UN Is Mt Friend!” The World Health Organization would like to thank you for your mindless support!

By his own admission in his book/autobiography, Obama’s father was a Kenyan citizen. The constitution requires the President to be a ‘natural born’ citizen which specifically means both parents are US citizens, and child is born in the United States. There are other definitions of US citizen that do not require these strict standards, but to be duly elected as President, one must meet the ‘natural born’ standard.
