Barney Frank- Not So Comic Relief
At a town meeting in Barney Frank’s Congressional District he was addressed by a young lady who likened the actions of the Obama administration to Nazi actions in the 30’s. Her presentation was over the top. She was within her first amendment rights to make a less than civil commentary on the proposed Health Care Bill actions of the majority party and the President in particular.
Frank in his typical wise guy manner upped the lack of uncivil discourse with his reply to the constituent making the presentation. He asked her “What planet are you from?” he then said that “talking to her was like talking to the dining room table and he had no interest in continuing a conversation with her”.
He turned away and took a drink from a bottle of water.
Frank is quick with derogatory replies when he is faced with opposition that is contrary to his goals for a Health Care Bill. The young ladys presentation was not a happy moment for Frank to address. He used her awkward presentation to avoid answering the question she presented. She wanted to know why with so much controversy over elements of the bill, didn’t Frank and the President, pursue answers that would address the concerns of the protests at these Town hall Meetings.
That is the continuing concern that goes beyond the raucous behavior at these meetings. It is that the Democrats are unwilling to seek a bill that compromises by addressing the growing concerns over a Public Option in the bill. Americans know that the government will run the costs of Health Care beyond any current estimates and that service will be cut.
Obama and all Democrat spokespersons have clearly indicated that the elderly would pay the bill by getting their services cut. When faced with a tough question, Barney Frank uses a quick smart-alecky answer to divert attention from the issue at hand.
Not the President, Frank, Pelosi or Reid are ready to address the concerns of citizens. They are Statists to the core. They are demonstrating the Statist disdain for the ability of the American public to understand or come up with answers that they feel should be left to the central government. These people really believe that they know what is good for us and will see that we get their program, whether we want it of not.
Likening the Administration to Nazis is not they way to answer the problem with Obama and his “not quite” brown shirts troops. They are not Nazis even though they at times seem to be headed in a similar doctrinaire direction. The answer to the Aministration is happening as we move through the current National debate on Health Care. America is waking up to the danger of Pelosi, Reid and Frank as leaders in the House and Senate.
Franks obnoxious behavior might help save America in 2010 by changing the majority

diogenes,
The President has not addressed the financial aspects of the Bill in any fashion that makes sense to anyone who understands finance. It is a plain Statist government grab for more control of our lives
Barney Frank is a mean buffoon.
The young lady was a bit extreme in her description but still a little short of loonie,.
I didn’t know that there were any leftie loonies. I thought there were only, as you describe us, “rightwingnuts.
“All I want to know is, how did you figure out that’s all she wanted to know, when her question was “Why are you supporting this Nazi policy?” ”
I still await, with bated breath, your answer to the only question I posed for you.

Yes, that poor misunderstood young woman. As you so politely termed it, “She wanted to know why with so much controversy over elements of the bill, didn’t Frank and the President, pursue answers that would address the concerns of the protests at these Town hall Meetings.”
Now, I don’t want to disagree with you or your interpretation of what the young woman was asking.
All I want to know is, how did you figure out that’s all she wanted to know, when her question was “Why are you supporting this Nazi policy?”
If her stated concern was why Frank supported “this Nazi policy” how is it that Frank could have POSSIBLY have offered any answer OTHER than the one he offered to properly “address her concern”?
Admit it: if a rightwingnut politician had dismissed a leftie loonie with the same aplomb, you would have lapped it up with a spoon.
