Buck Says came about because my oldest grandson encouraged me to write a blog sharing my wide range of experiences in business. I’ve come to the task of writing several times each week with thoughts and strategies I have used in my life that might be helpful to others.

I’ve been a Chief Executive Officer of several successful companies, one of which had an office in England. Travel helped me to begin to understand differences in culture and approach to problems that were not typically the American style.

My experience in the Marine Corps after college gave me a perspective on values that has been important throughout my life.

I retired early from my primary career developing and building real estate projects and started a “late in life” new career working with bright young technical people in the emerging online world. I was fascinated with the Internet possibilities and thought it would keep me young to spend time with a youth driven new experience. It has done that

After 9-11, I formed a small technical organization which developed approaches to identifying terrorist and criminal use of the Internet. During this period we worked to help several government agencies in improving their efforts towards defeating the criminal use of the Internet.

Early in life I played baseball and dreamed of making it to the “Bigs” I couldn’t hit a serious slider or curve so that dream slid away. I raced sailboats with a fair degree of success, skied for years and now snowshoe in the Rockies with my wife who is a much better trekker than me. I read continuously with biographies being a significant area of attention. International intrigue and mystery fiction run a close second.

Business trends, finance and tax policy are continuous areas of my interest and are subjects about which I can comment upon, based on years of personal experience.
